This dishwashing product is currently being marketed very successfully in Europe, America, and Australasia. Our senior product design engineer worked on this product from the earliest concept stage, right through to complete engineering documentation. This was whilst he was an employee of New Zealand's largest and most innovative home appliance manufacturing company.

This project achieved maximum benefits from the use of 3D solids modelling, which was essential, given the innovative design and extremely tight space constraints for this product. All mechanical components were modelled including large plastic injection moulded parts, which tested the available software and hardware of the early to mid-1990's. Due to the length and complexity of this product development project, the early stages of the mechanical design were developed on Catia V3 from 1989 and the project was completed on Pro/Engineer from 1994 to 1997.

The experience that our staff member acquired during his involvement with this particular project is invaluable to the depth of product design development know-how that exists at Design Smart. This has been significantly built upon in the time that has passed, whilst working at Design Smart for over a decade on the other very challenging development projects illustrated on this web site.
