The Detrainment door project was another challenging Design Smart project. We inherited this project from a previous design organisation that had dropped the ball six months out from the contract completion date. This onerous contract included penalty clauses for the / our client. We set about rectifying the design by employing additional sub contract staff to break the back of the job in the very short time frame we had left.

The design required the resolution of a mixture of mechanical mechanisms, control systems, and fibre glass skins. Design Smart delivered on time as in on the eve of the contract deadline which involved us rolling our sleeves up and assisting with the manufacture / fitment of the first off samples.

The client has since made additional batches of these doors for their client, so all in all yet another successful Design Smart project.
